How do I change the battery in my ScanLogic entrypad?


The battery compartment is located in one of two places on your EntryPad -either on the back of the EntryPad or in the SureLock Battery Management compartment: 1) Look to see if there is a black box with a lever under the EntryPad at about the 5 o'clock position. If so, pull down on the lever to unlock the SureLock Battery compartment. Now pull straight down to remove the compartment. Simply install a new battery - (Recommended: 9V Alkaline - Duracell or Energizer, preferred) Replace the SureLock Battery compartment and lock the lever. 2) If there was no black box at the 5 o'clock position, then your battery box is located on the back of the EntryPad: Grasp the EntryPad and push up from the bottom. You will hear the EntryPad release from the SnapFit mounting holes. Carefully remove the EntryPad. Take care not to damage the lock cable. You will now see the battery compartment on the back of the EntryPad. Remove the battery and unclip the battery terminals Replace with a new 9V battery - (Recommended: 9V Alkaline - Duracell or Energizer, preferred) Tuck the lock cable into the back of the EntryPad and reinstall the EntryPad on the shoulder bolts.




Will I lose my code if I change the battery or if the battery dies?


No. The code is programmed in the both in the entrypad and locking mechanism and will not be affected if you change the battery or if the battery dies.




How will I know if my battery is low?


The screen will display "Low Battery"




What kind of battery should I use?


Recommended 9V Alkaline - Duracell or Energizer

Where can I find the 20-digit serial number for my entrypad?


The serial number is located on the backplate or behind the entrypad. You will need to remove the entrypad from the safe. To remove the EntryPad fromthe safe door, push up from the bottom of the EntryPad.You will feel the SnapFit mounting holes release from the shoulder bolts. The serial number is located on a silver or blue sticker.




Where can I find the 20-digit serial number for my lock body?


The serial number is located on the locking mechanism inside your safe door. The serial number is located on a silver or blue sticker. Check with the safe manufacturer prior to removing the back panel of your safe door.
